Privacy policy

Last updated: 24 October 2026

HolySong is operated by Saurabh Gothi, India. This policy explains how we handle information when you use the HolySong app, visit this website, or contact us. For privacy questions or requests, email support@holysong.org.

Information needed to run HolySong

The launch version of HolySong does not require a HolySong account. Favourites, playlists, reading progress and downloads are stored locally on your device.

The app and our service use installation and session identifiers, a device key, and technical records needed to provide and secure the service. If you make or restore an App Store purchase, we process subscription and transaction information to verify the purchase, manage access, prevent misuse and resolve purchase problems. These technical identifiers and records can be associated with a device or purchase, even without a HolySong account.

Apple processes App Store payments. Apple and the HolySong backend verify purchases and determine access. RevenueCat receives purchase-related information for observation and reporting; it does not decide your access to HolySong.

Essential purchase, operational and security records are still processed when optional analytics, crash reporting and advertising measurement are switched off.

Optional analytics and crash reporting

If you enable “Usage analytics & crash reports,” HolySong sends app usage and sharing events to PostHog, hosted in the United States, and technical crash reports to Firebase Crashlytics. We use these reports to understand how the app is used, improve it and investigate reliability problems.

This combined optional setting is off unless you enable it. You can change it in the app’s privacy settings. Turning it off stops future usage analytics and crash reporting; it does not automatically remove information already sent. You can contact us about a deletion request.

Optional advertising measurement

Meta advertising measurement is off by default. It is enabled only if you give consent to advertising measurement in HolySong and authorize tracking through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission. If either permission is absent, Meta advertising measurement stays off.

When enabled, Meta receives advertising measurement events and related technical information to help measure advertising results. We do not send Scripture choices, onboarding answers or listening history to Meta. You can withdraw your advertising consent in the app’s privacy settings and change Apple’s tracking permission in iOS Settings.

If you choose advertising measurement immediately after paying, this can include the first purchase you just completed, with its original purchase time, price and currency. We do not use this choice to send older purchase history to Meta.

Meta may use technical information such as IP addresses to estimate approximate location and use permitted information for advertising personalization and measurement, as explained in Meta’s Privacy Policy. HolySong does not request your device’s location permission or send GPS coordinates.

This website and email

This website has no analytics scripts, advertising pixels or sign-up form. Vercel hosts the website and may process technical request information, including IP addresses and browser information, to deliver and secure it.

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any information or attachments you choose to send. Our contact email is hosted through Spacemail. We use support correspondence to answer you, investigate the issue and keep an appropriate record of the request. Please do not send passwords or payment card details.

Service providers and international processing

We use service providers to operate HolySong: Amazon Web Services for app service hosting in the United States; Apple for App Store purchases; RevenueCat for purchase observation and reporting; PostHog in the United States for optional analytics; Firebase Crashlytics for optional crash reporting; Meta for optional advertising measurement; Vercel for website hosting; and Spacemail for contact email.

Information may be processed outside your country. We share information with providers as needed for the purposes described above, according to the choices that apply to optional features. We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect the service and people’s rights.

How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected. Relevant criteria include whether the service or a support request still needs the information, legal obligations, security needs and dispute resolution. Purchase verification and audit records may need to be retained after access ends to account for purchases, refunds, fraud investigations and legal requirements.

Local app data remains on your device until it is removed through app or device controls. Service providers may retain information according to their applicable retention and deletion processes. We do not promise a single fixed retention period or immediate removal from all backups.

Your choices and requests

You can use the app’s privacy settings to manage optional collection. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction or deletion, or object to or restrict certain processing. Contact support@holysong.org to make a request or ask about your information.

Because the app does not require a HolySong account, we may need information that helps locate and verify the records involved. We may ask you to verify a request before acting. Some purchase, security or other records may need to be retained where required or permitted by law.

Security and updates

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, while recognizing that no storage or transmission method is completely secure. We may update this policy as HolySong develops. Changes will appear on this page with an updated date.
